This is the blog of two very adorable & picky hamsters....

Meet Crimson,

She's seven months old, my hubby named her Crimson for her beautiful red eyes but we call her Hammie. She enjoy's running around either in her wheel or out in open area's, climbing up stairs, tearing apart sunflower & pumpkin seeds and also peanut shells. Her favorite treats are either between yogurt drops or dried papaya cubes.

Aside from that shes a very smart hamster. She listens when you call her & talk to her, she loves kisses and chewing on anything thats rubber. When we first got her, she was really tiny and had scabs on her legs. Eventually they went away and she got into an accident where she was climbing up the side of her cage, had her hand on top of her wheel for support ( she did this often ) and somehow she hooked her foot onto the side of her cage while her hand slipped since the wheel moved ) & snapped her foot completely off her leg.

We were a bit worried when this happened since she was walking on it "normal" but it looked like she was walking on her leg because her foot sort of flopped in weird angles... not to mention when she climbed up her cage that same night her foot was also in weird angles. An hour or so later, her whole foot turned purple & we didnt know what to do. My hubby's mom found a site that told us to feed her bread soaked in milk. My hubby took care of her during this time ( she lived with him at the time ) and he told me she loved it! She also healed quickly, I believe it took about two weeks instead of six. Her foot is now fine, looks normal & moves normal.

Lately though, shes been trying to get over some digestive problems. Some days she has wet poo to diarraia and other days they're solid & normal so shes put on a strict died to see if its the food that's making her like that. We also moved her into a bigger cage as her Christmas present!



Meet Flix Blix,










Flix Blix is about two months old & he's a long haired teddy bear hamster. I named him Flix Blix because of my favorite goblin on a game called FFXI... its from the Rank 5 mission for anyone who plays it. But we call him Flixie or just Flix. Flix enjoys running in his wheel ( which is locked up right now since its Crimson's old cage ) or running in the ball ( which hes pictured in ). He's also a very curious little thing but doesnt run too fast. Or maybe he does, its just his fluffy butt that makes it look like he's not. Flix is a very light sleeper! Almost any sudden movement you make in the room can wake him up & once he's awake, hes ready to play. Flix's favorite treat is between papaya cubes or dried banana chips, but he also likes little seeds & pumpkin seeds. Flix also drinks a lotttt of water. But that's because he's been diagnosed with a bladder infection. He's currently taking antibiotics which he hates because he twitches after hes done taking it, I'm just glad he doesnt put up a big fight! Flix is usually full of energy by the time you pick him up & makes you feel guilty for leaving him in his cage.

When they get time to play together they usually chase eachother around, sniff eachother, or fight. Crimson doesnt take much time to pay any special attention to Flix, she runs around like he's not there... unless she's in heat. Flix loveees to follow Crimson around ( but who wouldnt she's beautiful! ) and bug her. They get along great, usually we have to pry Flix away from her cause he starts to frustrate not only her but us as well lol.
